Col de Suara to Sartène

A hike from Sartène to the Col de Suara on the old path linking Porti-Vechiu to Sarté. Beautiful sections of this ancient route can still be seen along the way. Return via the narrow D50.

🌿 Along the way, you’ll enjoy a fragrant walk in the heart of a wild nature where the maquis is dense. 🌿 From the car park, turn left and the path climbs gently, passing under beautiful olive groves.

🥾 1 hour 45 minute walk

A few metres further on, pass the wash-house with its two half-filled tubs and continue up to the D50. Most of the route is shaded.

Superb views of Sartène and the Aiguilles de Bavella. Turn right onto the D50 to reach the Col de Suara. Continue a little further downhill to reach the viewpoint over the Ortolu valley (orientation table). Opposite is the summit of Uomo di Cagna, recognisable by its rocky chaos.

Go back the way you came.

      🏴 From Sartène, from the Bassacciu municipal car park, to the left of the entrance, look for a path overlooking it. At the entrance to this path is a signpost indicating this Strada Antica. Take the sign and follow it to an imposing gate.
