For one week, students from the Andaghjina di l'Artisti (a preparatory class in contemporary singing at the Centre d'Art Polyphonique de Corse directed by Brice Lebert) will have the chance to follow the expert advice of Ruben Paz, a Cuban singer, saxophonist, flutist and composer from Havana, accompanied by three of his musicians.
Pupils will have the chance to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Afro-Caribbean music, to gain a better understanding of the history of a culture, of composition and of the harmonic and rhythmic specificities of this musical world.
Beforehand, the students will have prepared a repertoire based on traditional Cuban songs and the artist's own compositions. On the strength of this musical and cultural exchange, this exceptional artistic performance will bring the master class to a close, with both the students and the artists on stage to create a truly exotic set!
