Lyse-Majesté uses the prism of bees and the royal hierarchy to question fundamental political issues: what happens to power when its centre collapses?
Lyse-Majesté opens with the announcement of the death of the queen of the city of Importance, a cataclysmic event that shakes the entire city.
While the royal staff are busy observing a rigid and solemn protocol of succession, three characters find themselves at the heart of this ritual: Mélina, Marthe and Mirabelle, the royal beekeepers.
Their mission? To pass on the news to the kingdom's countless bees.
But these guardians of the hive, faced with the loss of their sovereign, struggle to follow protocol.
Between poignant memories and worries, they seek a way to fill the void left by this royal death.
In the seemingly immaculate kingdom of Importance, everything seems to conform to order and tradition, and yet...
The ritual of succession takes on the air of a farewell ceremony in which the dead regent is celebrated, while revealing deeper fractures.
