In June 1942, in a Parisian fabric warehouse, the destinies of several characters intersect under the shadow of war. Between family tensions, fragile identities and compromises, life goes on in spite of everything.
Raymond Martineau, the boss who seems to have stepped straight out of a play by Pagnol, is unable to impose his authority on his daughter. Nor is his wife, for that matter. Then there's Joseph, his youngest employee, whose father is from Brittany but whose mother is Jewish.
And finally there's Louis, his oldest employee, whose new friend is a collaborator of the worst kind. But apart from that... Life goes on. "Les marchands d'étoiles" should be recognised as being of public interest in Provence.
