As part of its off-site programme, the Théâtre municipal is offering "Les polyphonies du Valinco", an exceptional series of polyphonic singing concerts in Propriano church on 11, 18 and 25 September.
On Thursday 18 September, the group UNA FIARA NOVA will bring the sound of polyphonic song to the church of Notre Dame de la Miséricorde.
"A new generation of Corsican singers takes centre stage
Founded in 2019 under the impetus of the Giovannetti brothers in the heart of the Rustinu region, the group Una Fiara Nova began its young adventure by performing on local stages in bars and cafés.
In its early days, the group, made up of 3 singers and guitarists, developed and quickly turned to creation. In 2020, the Giovannetti brothers moved into the composition phase, researching texts and poems by well-known authors (Jean-Yves Acquaviva, Marcellu Acquaviva, Petru Santucci, Patrizia Gattacecca...).
Their compositions focus on polyphonies such as paghjella, as well as mass songs and contemporary polyphonies. A universe takes shape, a musical furrow is ready to be sown. At the same time, the group grew to 6 members, driven by a common desire to bring the Corsican language and song to life and share their musical universe on stage.
