Getting there

Authentic Taravo village

Petreto Bicchisano, once built around a vanished castle, this village is located on the RT40. Halfway between Propriano and Ajaccio at the foot of Mount “San Petru”, which rises to an altitude of 1400m.

Consisting of two hamlets: Petreto and Bicchisano welcomes you to the Taravo.

To this day, no trace remains of this mythical castle. However, the architecture of some of the houses, such as the lintels over corbels, make it possible to place the buildings around the middle of the 16th century.

Petreto-Bicchisano charms visitors with its houses, narrow streets and ancient fountains.

Don’t miss: St François convent and its carved wooden Christ, St Nicolas church, rebuilt in 1870, many of the village’s “mansion” houses that are part of Corsican heritage.
