Description
The Sollacaro library is hosting a screening of the film "Al Oeste, en Zapata" by David Bim (Cuba, 2025, 105 min).
This documentary takes us to the west of Zapata, to a wild and isolated marshland.
Landi leads a solitary life there, drawing from nature what he needs to survive, even poaching crocodiles. Far away, on the coast, his wife Mercedes raises their autistic son.
The director, using only sound and vision, sensitively captures their daily lives, a mix of resilience, isolation and the struggle for survival.
The screening will be introduced and followed by a discussion, then extended over a spuntinu, a convivial moment for exchanging and sharing.
For the spuntinu: bring whatever you'd like to share.
Admission is free.
