The museum presents the most notable objects from the island’s prehistory from the 7th millennium BC up to the Roman era. The collections include arms, war bonnets, jewellery, vases as well as lithic tools and menhir statues. This establishment receives the material from the digs undertaken by virtually all the island researchers and is the essential complement to visits to the major megalithic sites in the south of Corsica.
