As part of its off-site programme, the Théâtre municipal is offering "Les polyphonies du Valinco", an exceptional series of polyphonic singing concerts in Propriano church on 11, 18 and 25 September.
On Thursday 11 September, the church of Notre Dame de la Miséricorde will be filled with the sounds of polyphonic song by the famous group A FILETTA.
A Filetta's music is a journey... You could say it's a demanding, daring contemporary polyphonic vocal offering, born of a powerful oral tradition.
It was in 1978 that a group of very young people - some of them teenagers, driven by a fierce desire to help safeguard an oral heritage in full decline - set off on their journey... and it was a long and sometimes winding road, punctuated by exceptional discoveries and encounters.
They quickly opened up to other territories, disciplines and artists.
A vocal sextet whose trajectory sketches out a movement initiated in an age-old oral tradition and asserts itself in the twists and turns of a writing style that is uninhibited and free of any filial obligation; sacred or secular songs with diverse influences rub shoulders. It's music that serves a vision of the world that unambiguously rejects any kind of identitarian withdrawal, and whose philosophy could be summed up in René Char's beautiful aphorism: "The purest harvests are sown in soil that doesn't exist; they eliminate gratitude and owe only to spring".
Voices Jean-Claude Acquaviva - Seconda François Aragni - Seconda/Bassu Jean-Do Bianco -Seconda/Bassu Petr'Antò Casta - Seconda Paul Giansily - Terza Maxime Vuillamier - Bassu
