Easter weekend Ajouter aux favoris

A holiday in tune with Corsican traditions, with age-old processions, meetings with producers, hilltop villages and polyphonic singing. Between shared emotions and local flavours, let yourself be carried away by the living soul of Easter Corsica.

In Sartène , Holy Week takes on a whole new dimension on Good Friday. It is here that the famous CATENACCIU procession takes place, an unchanging rite that has enlivened “the most Corsican of Corsican towns” since the 14th century.

Day 1U catenacciu

Take time to discover the town of Sartène and its history thanks to our audio guide: the former governors’ palace, the churches, the watchtower, the typical narrow streets…

In the evening, enjoy the Catenacciu procession .

Day 2Meet the producers

Head inland along the Authentic Senses Route to meet passionate producers who will welcome you and share their expertise. Natural cosmetics, wines with character, essential oils, honey, traditional charcuterie, typical Sarten cheese… you’ll find flavours to delight all gourmets at the Sartène market!

And to round off the day in style, what better way than with an aperitif and a glass of Sartène PDO wine in front of one of the marvellous Valinco sunsets.

Day 3The hilltop villages route

Take the road through the hilltop villages to Fozzano, the village of Colomba, where you’ll meet Corsica’s only artisan pipe-maker.

On the way back down through the Vaddi Malli forest, take the opportunity to discover a wine estate, where the history and secrets of the wines will be told to you by the winemaker.

In the evening, you’ll be carried away by the emotion of a polyphonic singing concert.

Day 4Merendella

As tradition dictates, Easter Monday is Merendella (picnic) day.

Board a boat in Propriano and sail to one of the secret coves in the Gulf of Valinco to enjoy a merendella on the sand, under the sun.
