Easter weekend

Holy Week is characterised in Corsica by numerous religious processions across the island. At Sartène, “the most Corsican of Corsican towns” according to Prosper Mérimée, takes place on Good Friday a rite that has remained unchanged since the 14th century: the famous procession of the CATENACCIU.

Day 1U catenacciu

Take time to discover the town of Sartène and its history thanks to our audio guide: the former governors’ palace, the churches, the watchtower, the typical alleyways…

In the evening, experience the procession du Catenacciu.

Day 2Meet the producers

Set off inland, on the Authentic Senses Route, to meet passionate producers who will welcome you and share their expertise. Natural cosmetics, wines with character, essential oils, honey, traditional charcuterie, typical Sarten cheese… you’ll find flavours on the Sartène market that will delight all gourmets!

To end the day on a high note, what better way than with an aperitif to taste PDO Sartène wine in front of one of the marvellous Valinco sunsets.

Day 3The hilltop villages route

Take the route des villages perchés which will take you to Fozzano,the village of Colomba and you’ll meet Corsica’s only artisan pipier.

On the way back down throughthe Vaddi Malli forest take the opportunity to discover a wine estate, the history and secrets of the wines will be told to you bythe winegrower.

In the evening you will be carried away by the emotion of a concert of polyphonic singing.

Day 4Merendella

As tradition dictates,Easter Monday is Merendella (picnic).

Board a boat in Propriano and sail to one of the secret coves in the Gulf of Valinco to enjoy a merendella on the sand, under the sun exactly.
