Ajouter aux favoris

Just a few kilometres from Sartène, the Giuncheto discovery trail invites you to take a walk that combines authenticity with the beauty of the Corsican landscape. Accessible to all (approx. 3 hours’ walk), this looping route starts in the heart of the village, from the cemetery, and plunges you into the heart of typical scrubland, dotted with olive groves and arbutus trees.

Short loop hike through Corsican scrub leading to the ancient sheepfold of Paccialu di a Sarra, then to Punta di Pitone (577m) from where there is a beautiful view of the village of Giuncheto, the Ortolu valley and the Cagna mountain.

🌿 Along the way, you’ll enjoy a fragrant walk in the heart of a wilderness where the maquis is dense. 🌿 It slopes gently up to the crests and then descends below towards the village. There are plenty of signs to help you identify the main species.

🥾 2-hour walk

The path is lined with fences and drystone walls that mark the boundaries of private properties, so make sure you close each gate properly. The trail is punctuated by ancient buildings, fountains, ovens and taffoni, a type of rock shelter.

Giuncheto is a picturesque little village in Corse-du-Sud, immediately captivating visitors with its authentic charm and peaceful atmosphere. Nestling on a hillside, it offers a breathtaking panorama of the Corsican landscape, with lush green mountains and horizons stretching right down to the sea.
