Description
Pétanque is coming to Sartène for a major competition between local businesses, centred on sport, camaraderie and sharing.
Held at the Saint-Damien pétanque ground, the Dumè Furconu Challenge is a triples competition open to shopkeepers wishing to represent their businesses in a warm and festive atmosphere.
🎯 A triples competition
Each team consists of three players.
Only the shopkeeper representing their business is allowed to play: their spouse, child or an employee representing the business cannot stand in for them, otherwise the team would be classified as a competition between sponsors.
Team composition is also subject to a rule regarding licensed players: a maximum of one licensed senior/junior male player per team, including the shopkeeper, is permitted.
This restriction does not apply where the other registered players in the team are women or young people aged 14 or under in the current year.
🏆 A competition with plenty of prizes
The competition follows the A & B format, with €1,000 in prizes to be won as well as trophies for the participants.
The aim: to enjoy a pleasant evening amongst local traders whilst taking part in a proper pétanque competition.
An evening dedicated to camaraderie
A friendly atmosphere is guaranteed throughout the evening, offering the chance for business owners to get together, share in the sporting spirit and bring pétanque to life in Sartène.
The draw for the competition is scheduled for 6.45 pm sharp, followed by the opening throw at 7.00 pm.

The entry fee is €50 per business, and a receipt will be provided upon payment.
