This ensemble of passionate musicians invites you to discover or rediscover a living, vibrant culture, passed down from generation to generation. Come and experience a moment of pure emotion through traditional Corsican songs, sacred polyphonic chants and the spellbinding melodies of the guitar in an exceptional setting: the churches of our towns and villages, true treasures of acoustics and spirituality. These concerts, imbued with contemplation and a spirit of sharing, immerse you in the heart of Corsican identity, a blend of fervour, cultural transmission and timeless beauty. Through their powerful and harmonious voices, these artists celebrate the beauty of the mountains, the memory of their ancestors and the timeless emotions that bind the Corsicans to their land. The Voices of Inseme – Canti Nustrali Comprising six passionate singers, the group Inseme fervently embodies the heritage of Corsican song. Their voices intertwine in a sacred and vibrant polyphony, often performed within the unique acoustics of churches. Here are the group’s members and their vocal roles: Rutili Philippe – Bass A deep, resonant voice, often responsible for the bass line or drone. This is typically the lowest register. A talented guitarist, he brings balance and warmth to the harmonies. He is the link between the vocal tradition and the instrumental accompaniment. His subtle playing supports the voices with elegance. Philippe embodies authenticity and the passing on of tradition. His deep, soulful voice lends a rare depth to the polyphonic pieces. Charles Rutili – Low Baritone A solid, harmonious middle voice that underpins the foundation without being as deep as a bass. He can also take middle parts in polyphonic pieces. An iconic figure in Corsican singing, his musical sensitivity enriches every performance with finesse. Through his commitment and passion, Charles Rutili remains a key figure in Corsican music, helping to preserve and promote the island’s cultural identity. Sébastien Ottavi – Tenor (or high baritone) His flexible vocal range, between high baritone and tenor, allows him to tackle both melodic lines and central harmonies with ease. He draws his strength from his island roots, blending power and gentleness in his performances. These three, all passionate about singing, were guided towards the ‘Scola di Cantu’ in Ajaccio, the singing school run by Natale Luciani, founder of Canta U Populu Corsu. They subsequently joined this iconic group, performing at prestigious venues such as the Olympia, the Trianon and the Bataclan. Marc-Antoine Leandri – Tenor Agile in the high register. He can carry the main melodic line. A young voice full of energy and impact, he breathes a contemporary spirit into the ensemble, whilst respecting the ancestral codes of cantu nustrale. His accuracy and vocal commitment strengthen the harmony of the group. Cyril Tomasi – baritone Martin A clear and expressive voice. He can provide harmonic support or take on the higher passages, depending on the arrangements. Cyril stands out for his supple and expressive voice, capable of both delicate nuances and powerful vocal surges. His versatile range allows him to adapt to the needs of each piece, sometimes supporting the melody, sometimes forming the central harmony. Passionate about polyphony and Corsican heritage, he is distinguished by a clear, expressive and rich voice. Brilliantly blending precision and warmth, he plays an active role in passing on this living heritage. Ludovic Marcaggi – Tenor A rising star of Corsican singing, Ludovic Marcaggi combines vocal sensitivity with a commitment to his cultural heritage. Originally from Ajaccio, he developed a passion for the island’s music at a very early age, which he explores through polyphony, singer-songwriter music and great works in the Corsican language. A tenor with a clear and intense voice, Ludovic stands out for his expressive phrasing and his ability to convey emotion with precision. This group offers you much more than a concert: an emotional immersion into the Corsican soul, blending memory, identity and the beauty of sound. Price: €20 Free for under-12s.
