Description

To mark European Heritage Days, the Corsican Museum of Archaeology is organising a weekend of activities centred on prehistory and Corsica’s archaeological heritage. On the programme: demonstrations of Neolithic obsidian carving, a presentation of the new collections from Basi, a talk on the prehistoric site of Basi, a workshop on carving a Neolithic stone vase, a concert exploring the origins of the Mediterranean, and a Neolithic pottery workshop. Programme: Friday 18 September • 10.00–11.15 and 13.45–17.00: Neolithic obsidian carving, demonstration led by the Chalcophore association. • 6.00 pm: Presentation of Basi’s new collections, followed by a lecture by Thomas Perrin, prehistorian and research director at the CNRS. Saturday 19 September • 10.00 am–12.00 pm and 2.00 pm–5.00 pm: Carving a Neolithic stone vase, a demonstration led by the Chalcophore association. • 7.00 pm: ‘A Song of the Sancti, at the Origins of the Mediterranean’, a concert with Marina Luciani and Patrizia Gataceca.
