Description
Since 2022, the Corsican Centre for Polyphonic Art in Sartène has been hosting the Andaghjina di l’Artisti, a professional training course in contemporary singing led by Brice Lebert.
This course enables students to develop their vocal and artistic skills through various styles of contemporary music.
For this latest event, the Andaghjina welcomes Karim Bouazza, a drummer originally from Corsica.
Having started playing the drums at a very young age, he continued his training in Paris and quickly made a name for himself on the jazz and live music scenes.
Throughout his international career, he has collaborated with renowned artists such as Keith B. Brown, Big Dez and The Wanton Bishops.
He has performed notably at the Montreal International Jazz Festival and as the support act for Sting.
During this masterclass, the students at L’Andaghjina worked alongside Karim Bouazza and his band on classic blues, soul and funk standards.
In doing so, they explored these major genres of contemporary music and developed their interpretative skills, musicality and stage presence.
The concert at the Théâtre de Propriano will be an opportunity to discover the fruits of this artistic and educational collaboration, combining the passing on of knowledge, vocals and live music.
Free admission.
In partnership with the Centre d’Art Polyphonique de Corse.
