Description
Dominated by the Lion of Roccapina and its Genoese tower, this vast bay is one of Corsica’s most iconic landscapes. For centuries, this silhouette, sculpted by the wind, has captured the imagination of travellers and locals alike.
Legend has it that the Lion watches over the bay for all eternity. Whether this is true or not is ultimately of little consequence: it forms part of the very soul of this place, where granite, the sea and the maquis combine to create one of the most beautiful settings in the south of the island.
From the vantage point of the Genoese tower, the panorama takes in the entire bay and reveals one of the most magnificent landscapes of ‘Corsica of Origins’.
