Description
The Propriano–Olmeto loop, returning to Propriano via the Maggese road.
This route will take you first to the charming village of Olmeto (RT40).
After the climb up to Olmeto, turn right at the entrance to Olmeto onto the D257, heading towards ‘Baracci’. This narrow road, well shaded in places, is all downhill. Also known as the ‘Route des Moulins’, it takes its name from the oil mills that once stood here, of which only a few ruins remain today.
At the very bottom of the D257, the Sant’Armettu vineyard stretches out across its sun-drenched slopes. A place well worth noting!
Cross the little ‘Filetta’ bridge and turn right, staying on the D257. You are now in the Baracci plain. 4.5 km from the Baracci baths, you’ll rejoin the RT40, which will take you back to Propriano.
