Following the global success of *Adieu Monsieur Haffmann*, Jean-Philippe Daguerre has created a deeply personal and moving play.
1958, in Nœux-les-Mines, in northern France. Pierre and Vlad are inseparable.
They work in the mine, breed carrier pigeons and play the accordion in the local band led by Sosthène, a colourful character who is both a life-and-soul and a bar-room philosopher.
When the vivacious Leïla joins the band, the balance between the two friends is thrown off course.
Exploring friendship, love, dreams and solidarity, *Du charbon dans les veines* immerses us in the warm, down-to-earth world of a small mining town, where joy coexists with the harsh realities of daily life.
