Description

Halfway between Sartène and Bonifacio, the Roccapina Tower overlooks one of the most iconic landscapes in southern Corsica. Perched on its rocky promontory, it overlooks Roccapina beach and its turquoise waters, with the famous Lion of Roccapina as its neighbour. Built in the early 17th century by Giovanni de Cauro, who also commissioned the Senetosa Tower, this 8-metre-high granite tower bears witness to the former system of coastal surveillance in Corsica. Visible from Regional Road 40, it can also be reached on foot, set within a remarkable natural landscape of maquis, granite and the Mediterranean. Practical information 📍 Location: Roccapina, in the municipality of Sartène, between Sartène and Bonifacio. 🥾 Access: on foot via the footpaths at the Roccapina site. 👟 Equipment: walking shoes recommended. ⚠️ Caution: the tower is partially dilapidated. Do not climb the walls or approach any unstable sections, and observe any access restrictions. 📸 Not to be missed: the panoramic views of the beach, the Lion of Roccapina and the coastline from the heights.
